Ka (life force) - Egyptian soul
Egyptian soul
In Egyptian thought, the human soul is made up of five parts: the Ren, the Ba, the Ka, the Sheut, and the Ib.
In addition to these components there was the human body (called the ha, occasionally a plural haw, meaning approximately sum of bodily parts).
Ka (life force)
The Ka (k3) was the concept of life force, the difference between a living and a dead person, death occurring when the ka left the body. The Ka was thought to be created by Khnum on a potter's wheel, or passed on to children via their father's semen.
The Egyptians also believed that the ka was sustained through food and drink. For this reason food and drink offerings were presented to the dead, although it was the kau (k3w) within the offerings (also known as kau) that was consumed, not the physical aspect.
The ka often was represented in Egyptian iconography as a second image of the individual, leading earlier works to attempt to translate ka as double.
Julian Jaynes in his theoretical work, The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, suggests that the "ka" originally was a hallucinated deity-voice similar to that experienced in schizophrenia. According to his theory, most people were not fully conscious in the early ancient period, and hence his theory is regarded as on the fringe by the mainstream.
Giacomo Borioni proposes in his work "Der Ka aus religionswissenschaftlicher Sicht" that, according to Friedrich Junge, the Ka was the "self" of a human being.

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real, but only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson,
love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind, but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life,
whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime
Kabalion. Master Key. Seven Principles of Ka. Gender
Kabalion
This "book" is the "Master Key".
The Seven Principles of Ka
The Principle of Gender
"Gender is in everything;
everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles;
Gender manifests on all planes."
Kabalion.
This Principle embodies the truth that there is GENDER manifested in everything-the Masculine and Feminine Principle ever at work. This is true of not only of the Physical Plane, but also of the Mental and even the Spiritual Planes. On the Physical Plane, the Principle manifests as SEX, on the higher planes it takes higher forms, but the Principle is ever the same. No creation, physical, mental or spiritual is possible without this Principle. An understanding of its laws will throw light on many a subject that has perplexed the minds of men. The Principle of Gender works ever in the direction of generation, regeneration, and creation. Everything, and every person, contains the two Elements or Principles, of this great Principle, within it, him or her. Every Male thing has the Female Element also; every Female contains also the Male Principle. If you would understand the philosophy of Mental and Spiritual Creation, Generation, and Re-generation, you must understand and study this Hermetic Principle. It contains the solution of many mysteries of Life. To the pure, all things are pure; to the base, all things are base.

someone with special sensitivity
SCHIZOPHRENIA POSITIVIZED
How we view someone is bound to affect how we treat him or her. If I view someone with schizophrenia as having a degenerative brain disease, this belief will likely lead to treating him as a sick or disabled person. If I view that person as deviant, I am likely to see him as someone who needs to be controlled or locked up.
If I view that person as someone with special sensitivity to nuance, I might be more respectful. And, if I view that person as someone who is touched by the transpersonal, I might train him to be a shaman or priest.
Or, if I view that person as someone who is struggling to find a more authentic basis on which to live, I might view him as more like myself, also seeking to grow, develop and become a better person.
And when we discuss our theories about the origin and nature of the condition, they inevitably affect the client's view of himself. People with this condition are often led to believe they have an incurable chemical imbalance and are ill. Even when we tell them they are not responsible for their illness, we inadvertently take away some of their personal power while trying to destigmatize a condition that is viewed as an illness or disability to begin with. How can a person possibly develop a sense of self-worth if they have been told they have such a debilitating condition?
On the other hand, how would it affect their self-esteem if they were told they were, for example, highly sensitive individuals who pick up nuances in their environment and that this can be a useful trait in a society of diverse people. It is not just a covert reframing of the definition of illness, it focuses on a positive aspect of what exists and this can give the person a sense not only of pride in themselves but also of being understood and accepted for what they truly have to offer. This increased self-esteem in itself may be able to help the person overcome some of the motivational problems that are associated with the negative symptoms of schizophrenia.

I intend to investigate the following in my research.
I intend to investigate the following in my research.
Basically, I want to draw together strands that I have read/found/experienced regarding:
REM dream state simultaneous with being awake = psychosis (Human Givens Institute)
Psychedelic experience ie "tripping" and shamanic experience is the same dimension of experience (Hancock: "Supernatural")
Psychosis and spiritual/mystic experience = same/similar experience (Isabel Clarke)
Transgender metamorphasis and schizophrenia = linked (article: scientific study links statistics) (shamanic half man/half woman, return to original male female cell)
Psychosis & broken home linked (BBC News article)
Psychosis occurence and mixed ethnicity linked (as above)
Jung was a self healing schizophrenic who believed psychosis to be a self healing mechanism (John Perry Weir)
Schizophrenia not proven to be an illness (no evidence to assert this - bad science: science should be based on fact, not assumption)
However, getting lost in psychosis, & not coming back from the experience makes psychosis dangerous and sometimes terrifying
Schizophrenia genetically and directly linked to genius, particularly in creativity of thought and..eg Blake, Carrol, Fry, Churchill, Einstein, jung)
Madness Explained: Psychosis and Human Nature by Richard P. Bentall "demolishes the century-old myth that there are two distinct illnesses, schizophrenia and manic/depressive disorder." (Madness Explained: Psychosis and Human Nature by Richard P. Bentall)
Schizophrenia possibly linked to positive past evolutionary advances/missing link (Horrobin: "The Madness of Adam and Eve")
I am fascinated by all of the possible implications and arguments surrounding these potential/proven connections

The flip side of a beautiful gift from the cosmic force.
So called...
Psycho Sis.
Of the psycho sisters.
The flip side of a beautiful gift from the cosmic force.
What can one say about Psycho Sis?
I wrote a poem about a conversation between a psychiatrist and myself.
about psychosis, and psychiatric wards, and the people on them, and the way they are ignored and silenced.
Xxxxxx
What happened?
I took mushrooms at 16.
Entered multiple alternative dimensions.
I tripped.
To many a plane.
Time?
Suddenly time became dysfunctional.
All became strange. Beautiful. Terrifying. Wonderful. Calm.
Suddenly, life revealed that it could be amazing. But kind of alarming.
